Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need to get started ... Some of the reviews here refer to this course as being super basic or that they expected much more and were sorely disappointed. I suppose if you have a BA in business (which, I wouldn't know why you'd be taking this course anyway) then this may come across as a bit trivial. I wouldn't expect a course with a title like, "The Entrepreneur's Toolkit" to be post-doc level or deliver an entire degree's worth of knowledge. The title of this course - to me at least - tells me that this is information that a regular individual can use as a jumping-off point for starting a business. From my point of view, this was an excellent course with a ton of good information for somebody who's thinking about starting a business. If you're considering starting your own business, this course contains excellent information and extremely useful material. 5 Stars all the way!

This course was a very nice overview of the different aspects of the business. While the lecturer is talking in general I found it easily applicable to our situation and stage of the business. It is also easy to listen and follow in the car. Cannot wait to drive again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot of information I'm six lectures in to this course, it is quite dense. The information seems solid if a bit outdated. Other than the fact that this man cannot say "industry" correctly, I find his teaching style very tolerable. He keeps trying to be funny, and kind of succeeding, but it makes me groan just a bit every time. So far he has done a good job of covering several business models, challenges faced by new businesses, and laid out a basic overview of the legal structure used by most companies. He has also said about 1000 clichés. Does not take a genius to understand what is taught in this class. Might take one to practice what he preaches though...

This Entrepreneur's Tool Kit is one of the worst in terms of delivery. If possible I will be returning this course which is something I don't think I have done before for any course. The lecturer cannot talk without moving his arms and hands all over the place. Very distracting - like a sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired. In public speaking gestures are helpful when making a point - but with Dr. Michael G. Goldsby - everything is a point. I cannot stand to watch.

Dr. Michael G. Goldsby is the Stoops Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Center in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Economics and Public Policy from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, his master's degree in Economics from Indiana State University, and his doctorate in Strategic Management and Business Ethics from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he was awarded the Jack Hoover Award for Teaching Excellence. Professor Goldsby's current research focuses on recognition and development of opportunities, design, innovation, and applied creativity. He is a member of many management professional organizations and offers consulting and workshop services to companies, communities, and universities. In addition to his numerous refereed journal articles, Dr. Goldsby coauthored Innovation Acceleration: Transforming Organizational Thinking, and his research has been reported by major international media outlets, including CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and the Associated Press. His study on entrepreneurship and fitness was covered by Runner's World, Prevention magazine, Muscle & Fitness, and Health magazine.In his spare time, Dr. Goldsby enjoys athletic pursuits. He has run 25 marathons, including eight Boston Marathons, and he completed his first IRONMAN Triathlon in 2012.
