Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eye Opening Life Skills I considered this course for weeks before finally deciding to take it. Vanessa did a great job presenting the life skills with multiple practical, real-life examples. I was disappointed in the accompanying handout, and the very last lesson indicated that there were two more life skills that were going to be presented, but it was the end of the course.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of a.kind course worth the time. Shorten! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this amazing contribution to the science of “love in motion” in all aspects of life. Truly a worthwhile study!! As the Good Book says, “If you would be perfect…” I would recommend an elite edited version of the course, which takes the best of the best material and edits out the slower less interesting material. As Vanrsss herself would say, “Make it bolder!” Punchiness should be increased by talented editing! The course is a lot to wade through. I’m an Attirney and made it through. It will definitely be a blessing to my clients. God bless you Vanesss! I was particularly touched by your sharing your hurts as a child.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touchy-Feely Therapeutic Rubbish Maybe it's due to a generational difference, but this course didn't resonate with me at all. The instructor puts forth the view that having people skills means being sappily positive and optimistic about everything. It's the "everyone is special" and "everyone gets a trophy" attitude that pervades so much of our educational system and public discourse today. She classifies negative, pessimistic people as "difficult" people and "subtractors" and wants us all to be Pollyannas who love everything and everybody. (She has the annoying verbal tick of saying "I love it" constantly.) She repeatedly commits the psychogenetic fallacy: assuming that because you can identify a psychological motivation for a belief the belief is invalid. Thus, anyone who offers criticism and judgment is motivated by fear, therefore their criticism and judgment can simply be dismissed. This is rubbish. Personally, I believe there is much to be criticized in our contemporary world and my criticism is based upon reason and evidence. If that makes me a "difficult" person, then that is what I will proudly be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Valuable Skills Good course. As another reviewer mentioned, this is more valuable for the younger, less experienced crowd. We should all, even those of us approaching retirement, improve our people skills. Understanding how to communicate better is extremely valuable. What I found is that I was finding little details that I disagreed with (and wanted to discuss with them but they won’t talk to you unless you sign up for their course). I didn’t mind the “audience” / “live” nature of the lectures. That helps to teach you how clueless the general public is. This isn’t a knock on the audience filmed, they are a good variety of people who have already given attention to this subject. Wondrium is a fantastic value. I signed up for “People School” as I wanted to get into more depth and join a community interested in such subjects. I ended up getting a refund as “People School” doesn’t deliver much more than this course does. The online community is very inactive. “People School” is seriously overpriced, it’s really aimed at the very wealthy “CEO” class of people.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a little bummed. I am not very happy about a guide book NOT being included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Course I found this course to be amazing. I am learning so much about how to understand people. I love that it is 'skills' focussed, meaning you can learn about a technique and then go and try it. At times the course can be focussed on helping to build confidence, but I am really getting the most out of understanding personality and reading people. Vanessa is so positive and I just love listening to every lecture and trying out the new skills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Content, Way Too Long My review for "Master Your People Skills" is essentially the same as for Ms. Edwards' other course, "The Power of Body Language": The content is very useful, but the live seminar format more than doubles the amount of time that should be necessary to present the material. Spread over 31 lectures, this course rings in at nearly 23 hours. Frankly, the conceptual content could have been presented in 6-8 hours. My wish, as for her other course, would be for TGC to bring Ms. Edwards into the TGC studio and do these courses justice rather than simply re-packaging live seminars from outside sources.
