Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious I have watched all the videos and made most of the recipes in this course and can attest that this is a wonderful set of lectures. All the dishes are easy to make and healthy and so delicious! A few of them lasted into a night or two of leftovers, since it's just my husband and me, and they just got better and better with time in the fridge for the flavors to blend. This meant they were also very economical. I've been recommending this course to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it! Her course is inviting and integrates practical cooking strategies and simple recipes with reasonable and helpful health advice …. So, these are the recipes we will actually cook! Keeps me from reaching for potato chips and instead for the fresh foods I have time to prep. Dr. Nordgren is a wise one, and fun to watch cook. Looking forward to her future productions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific course! As a practicing pediatrician and honors graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Dr. Nordgren brings a very valuable, specialized expertise and credibility to this course on healthy eating. With half of each lecture focusing on medicine and science and the other half demonstrating how to cook healthy meals, Dr. Nordgren imparts valuable advice in an approachable, user-friendly way. She is bright, energetic, and engaging, and the meals she has chosen are not complicated or difficult to prepare. I found myself watching more than one lecture in a sitting and eager to go to the next one after I finished the one before. Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only if you LOVE to cook and have lots of time This is an average grade: 5 if you love to cook, for hours every day; 1 if like me you eat to be healthy but you have a full and demanding life - and you get your 'fun time' in other ways. I had high hopes for this class. I'd love to see some real demos of How-To cook some great QUICK, EASY meals. I quickly learned - No. This presenter - for what she called a 'simple green salad' - has you drying the leaves in a drying tool, so that it is completely dry before you put the dressing (we'll get to that), and the (fresh picked of course) herbs. That dressing? A vinaigrette that you whip up specifically for a particular meal, every day. You have your own herb garden and nothing better to do with your day but pick individual leaves at the peak of perfection, right? If cooking is your passion, and you don't have a FT job doing something else difficult and mentally demanding, or going to school full-time studying something with five hours of study and projects and homework every single day, and you also don't have kids, cats, elderly parents, poodles that need walkies.... you know, normal American adult life, then this class is a 5. I eat healthy every day. No junk food ever. Restaurant with a healthy salad, hummus, etc. menu twice a month. So I was looking for tips to add more taste without adding more time, complexity, greens-drying appliances, or mixing fresh salad dressing every day. [Olive oil and vinegar; nothing healthier.] I was looking.... need to keep looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous practical course Engaging and knowledgeable instructor, helpful science and outstanding recipes which apply the scientific info she provides, I'm an intermediate cook and this course advanced my skills and successfully conveyed her point that eating can be delicious as well as healthy. I've taken all your courses by Bill Briwa, and they are wonderful. But this course offered recipes that are all on my level. I've already tried a few. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo of the how and why One of the best and practical presentations for changing one's food intake. Very engaging presentation style. Pertinent background as to the current science behind each segment and helpful hints to prepare food. I wish I had seen this when I was working (in healthcare). I tried one of the recipes (turkey chili) and it was wonderful, and easy to make. Am going to make the orange chicken next. Can't wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent course for healthy eating. Dr. Nordgren comes from medical background and nutritional science. I’m in mid 60’s and raised two children. I wish I had known these information as they were growing up. We did a lot of fast food restaurants as they were in so many activities and no time to cook. Now they are grown with their own children, I want to encourage them to watch this video so they can cook nutritious meals for their family. I tried several recipes she suggested and came out great. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the course I have been waiting to see! I try hard to follow a healthy diet. The doctor/chef/mom is delightful, engaging, and knowledgeable. I have tried several of the recipes, and each has been everything she promised. I hope she does more courses for Great Courses Plus.
